Dear Dementia: Confront dementia in a letter
The Alzheimer’s Society are encouraging everyone to share their concerns and feelings in a ‘Dear Dementia’ letter, which you can share either online or via social media. They believe the best way to reduce the myths and misunderstandings about the condition is to be open about it and confront any issues. Click here for more information on the Dear Dementia campaign.
Reminiscence events around the 1966 World Cup
Memories from the 1966 World Cup will be collected and shared as part of Leeds Beckett University’s celebration of Dementia Awareness Week. As part of a new partnership with the Sporting Memories Foundation, one of our charity partners, the event will bring together people from care homes and those living with dementia and will be held at Leeds Beckett’s Headingley Campus on Wednesday 18 May. The ‘Memories of 1966’ project celebrates the glory of 1966 and the legacy of England’s win fifty years later and will culminate in an exhibition housed at The National Football Museum later this year.
